Background

 Colosse and Laodicea were approx. 9 miles from each other

In previous verses Paul had said he was a servant of the gospel and responsible for the gospel. He is in the middle of sharing with the Colossian church his love for them to walk in truth (v.1)

Paul’s Desires:

That their hearts will be encouraged (v.2)

That they will be knit together in love (v.2)

To reach the truth that is in Christ and be satisfied with Him (v.2-3)

That they would not be drawn to other attractions (v.4)

*99% of the truth is still a falsehood. One drop of poison is enough to make the entire well undrinkable!

Christ is Our Satisfaction

Thus,

…..Walk in Him.

…..Rooted in Him

…..Built up in Him

….Abound in thanksgiving

Take Home Question: If Jesus satisfies our every longing, then why turn somewhere else?
