- If God is the builder, then this means: (v.3-4)
- Your house is secure, even when storms occur.
- The builder’s view of you is what matters
- God initiates the growth. Stay close to the builder by knowing:
- His blueprints
- His heart
- Growth in faith and in love is built upon the foundation of hope (v.4-5)
- This hope is an objective truth- it will happen (v. 5- “because of the hope laid up for you in heaven”)
- Hope provides strength when you fail in faith and love.
- Experiential faith- “In” Christ- abiding. Nothing else substitutes your hope except Christ’s assurance and promises, his hope. Our growth becomes Christ-centered
- Doctrinal faith- (v. 5- “word of truth”)
- The Gospel performs the work of bearing fruit and growing (v.6)
**Ultimate Question: Is the Gospel bearing fruit in your life?
