What is it?

It is a Bible reading initiative, which aims to improve biblical literacy in the church by encouraging readers to grown in joy and skill in reading the Bible. 

The initiative seeks to foster:

  • An understanding of how to read the parts of Scripture well.
  • A perspective on the Bible as a grand story God has written on the world.
  • A grasp of the themes of Scripture that thread their way powerfully and beautifully from the beginning to the end of this book of books, and sound application of the Scripture to modern-day life.

What does RBL Involve?

  • Six-day chronological reading plan for 52 weeks.
  • Devotional question(s) for each day.
  • Divides the Grand Redemptive Story in 3 Acts with 17 Scenes.

Church-wide/Personal Initiatives

  • Pastor Ben will be preaching a series focusing in on the chronological grand story of Scriptures, beginning February 5.
  • Weekly LifeGroup discussion, beginning February 5.
  • ”How to Study the Bible” series at the Gathering, beginning February 5.
  • Personal Bible reading, beginning January 1.

  • The Reader’s Guide is available for purchase at the reception area or at Lifeway bookstores.  The guide costs $10.  Or you can download the reading plan here.
  • Begin your personal reading plan on January 1.
